AcuSense is Hikvision's human and vehicle detection. It stops the false alarms that make people turn notifications off: rain, pets, moths, swaying branches and passing headlights.

What does AcuSense do?
Ordinary motion detection goes off whenever anything in the picture changes. Outdoors, that means constant alerts. Within a week most people mute them, and then the alerts are no use at all.
AcuSense uses AI on the camera or recorder to work out what moved. You draw a line or a zone and choose human, vehicle or both. Only those set off an alarm.
Fewer false alarms: animals, weather, insects and light changes are filtered out.
Faster searching: search recordings by human or vehicle. Finding "the person at the side gate last Tuesday" takes seconds, not an evening.
Active deterrence on some models: a flashing light and audio warning triggered only by a person in the zone.
No subscription: it runs locally and alerts arrive through the free Hik-Connect app.
Yes, on a limited number of channels. An AcuSense recorder adds human and vehicle filtering to cameras that don't have it. That's the lowest-cost way to cut false alarms on an existing system.
Use line crossing or intrusion detection, not basic motion. AcuSense filtering applies to the smart events. Basic motion detection will still fire on everything.
Draw tight zones. Cover your drive, path or gate, not the public pavement or road beyond it.
Select the target. Tick human, vehicle or both for each rule.
Link the event to notifications in the recorder and enable alerts in Hik-Connect.
Mount at a sensible height. Around 2.5 to 3 metres with a slight downward angle classifies more reliably than a camera looking straight along a wall.

AcuSense is Hikvision's deep-learning detection that classifies what moved. Instead of alerting on any change in the picture, an AcuSense camera or recorder raises an alarm only when it sees a human or a vehicle, so rain, pets, swaying trees, spiders and headlights stop filling your phone with notifications.
Do I need AcuSense cameras or an AcuSense NVR?
Either works. AcuSense cameras do the classification on the camera, which scales best. An AcuSense NVR or DVR, identified by an X in NXI or an iDS prefix, can apply human and vehicle filtering to a limited number of ordinary cameras, which is a cost-effective way to upgrade an existing system. Check the channel limit on the recorder's specification.
What is the difference between AcuSense and ColorVu?
They solve different problems. AcuSense is about smarter alerts: it decides whether movement is a person or a vehicle. ColorVu is about the picture at night: it records in full colour instead of black-and-white infrared. Many current Hikvision cameras include both.
Does AcuSense need a subscription or the cloud?
No. The detection runs on the camera or recorder itself, and alerts reach your phone through the free Hik-Connect app. There is no monthly fee.
How do I tell if a Hikvision camera has AcuSense?
Most G2-generation Pro series cameras, such as DS-2CD2343G2-IU, DS-2CD2346G2-IU and DS-2CD2387G2-LU, are AcuSense cameras, and the product name or data sheet will say so. Recorders with NXI in the model number or an iDS prefix are AcuSense recorders. Our Hikvision model numbers guide explains the full scheme.
Can the public buy Hikvision AcuSense cameras?
Hikvision is primarily a trade product, and trade account holders see trade pricing when logged in. HiLook, Hikvision's own value range, caters for end users as well as trade and also offers human and vehicle detection on many models. Call us and we will tell you which range suits your job.
